Classical Revolution is a global classical music movement founded by Charith Premawardhana in San Francisco, California in 2006, with its first session at San Francisco's Revolution Café. At Classical Revolution events, classical musicians and composers of all instruments are invited to join the core Classical Revolution players in performance, and are even encouraged bring music to read.
While attending the San Francisco Conservatory, violinist and educator James Keene was an active participant in the original San Francisco chapter of Classical Revolution, and in 2014, James founded the New Jersey chapter of Classical Revolution with a little strategic and technological help from polymath Nick West.
James organized the first Classical Revolution - NJ session at Pino's in Highland Park, NJ, and went on to bring the revolution to the legendary Ale & Wich Tavern, the Court Tavern, and other cafés/pubs in New Brunswick, NJ and around New Jersey.
Classical Revolution - NJ is currently directed by violinist and educator Samantha Tomblin.
